Frequent readers of this blog and the ‘original’ Oakdale Chronicles are familiar with my story. I won’t rehash all of that here. Instead, I will share a video with you all that captured the most incredible experience of my life, and hopefully you will understand why I say it was frightening, humbling, uplifting, joyous, scary, remarkable, terrifying, and glorious all at the same time.
On February 15, 2015, I was baptized at Capitol Hill Baptist Church in Washington, DC by Pastor Mark Dever in front of over 950 friends, family members, and fellow members of CHBC.
Our great God is so awesome. Enjoy the video and praise God with me for His mercy, His grace, and His forgiveness. Amen.
Thank you for sharing this. I started to add a comment but it became more of a blog post…so I’ll save it for another time and just say, it’s nice to meet you Tony. I too was raised Catholic and didn’t know the love of God until He saved me in December 2013. Now, to God be all the glory! I am saved…I am redeemed…I am changed…I am a child of God.
I was baptized in March 2014. I have the video someplace…but I’ll never forget it!

Jackie – It’s nice to ‘meet’ you too. I have started and restarted these words of thanks both here in the blog and in an email. Let me simply say that I am grateful for the things you write and the thoughts you share. You are appreciated.
